This part of my site is devoted to my decks. All of my decks have either been created by me, my best friend, or copied from a magazine or book. My site features many deck themes and gives a brief explanation of what the deck is about. The sample decks I am showing are not exactly what you have to put in your decks. You can build the decks however you want.
This deck is a creatureless deck that uses red direct damage to kill your oppenent and their creatures. Many good spells to put in are ones like Fanning the Flames and Blaze. Other good spells are ones that cost less like Incinerate, Shock, and Volcanic hammer. If you make this deck make sure that you distribute the high costing and the low costing spells evenly. This deck should contain about 20-24 mountains. Remeber to kill the creatures not just your opponent. This is a medium speed deck.
This is a deck I thought of. It uses spells that spells like Drain Life, Vampiric Touch, Ebony Charm, Corrupt, and Touch of Death to deal damage to your oppenent while you gain life. Back this with some black regenerating creatures like Drudge Skeleton and others like that plus a few Dark Rituals and you have a pretty good deck. You should put about 20-24 Swamps in this deck. This is medium speed deck.
This deck uses creatures like Rogue Elephant, Plant Elemental,and Primeval Force. These creatures are big creatures that cost extremely little. The catch is that you have to sacrifice land in play to cast them. This may sound bad but when you have a first turn 3/3 it is good. To get the land back add in some Cartogrophers and Harvest Wurms. Also Thundering Wurm and Fallow Wurm go in this deck. Put in some Giant Growths and maybe even an Overrun to add some extra damage. This is a very fast deck and requires about 20 land.
This deck is mostly self explanatory. Just take your best goblins and put them in, but make sure that they do not cost more then three because this is a weenie deck. Try to put in four Goblin King's if you can because you can have all four in play because they are lords not legends. Put some red direct damage in and a Relentless Assault or two. You can also add in some spells of your choice like Giant Strength and Goblin Grenade. This is a fast deck and requires about 20 Mountains.
A weenie deck is just a deck with creatures that cost less than two. The object of a weenie deck is speed. You want to overpower your oppenent before he gets a lot of creatures out. A weenie deck can be all five colors. The most common colors are Green and White. You can have the colors either seperate or together. Green is good because it has spells like Giant Growth and have some good creatures. Green is also good because you can add in Recycle and Aluren to give you a big advantage. Recycle lets you draw a card whenever you play a card and Aluren allows you to play creatures with casting cost less then three without paying the casting cost. White has the most good weenie creatures and spells like Warriors Honor. Blue has counterspells, black has creature destruction, and red has direct damage. These are fast decks and reqiure about 20 land.
This deck is a blue deck with Merfolk. As I said to do with my goblin deck, just add in your best merfolk. Try to put in four Lord of Atlantis and like a Goblin King they are lords so you can have four in play. Put in some counterspells and other interupt spells too. Then just add some spells of your choice. This is a fast deck and requires about 20 Islands.
A spike deck is just a deck of spikes. Spikes are creatures found in Tempest, Stronghold, and Exodus. They come into play with +1/+1 counters on them. They are able to put them on other creatures though. To make this deck add in your best spikes remebering to mix up low casting and high casting costs. Then add in four Sadistic Glees and four Reacurring Nightmares to get a real lot of counters on your creatures. This deck 12 Swamps and 12 Forests and is a slow deck.
This is a deck that uses Pestilence to kill your oppenent and their creatures. Pestilence is an enchantment that deals 1 damage for each black mana you pay. The way to get around dealing damage to yourself is to use a Circle of Protection: Black. For your creatures just use creatures that have protection from black so that they won't be killed. Add in some other things like Urza's Armor and Worship to help you win. This is a medium speed deck and requires about 12 Swamps and 12 Plains.
This deck can also be called a Permission deck because it literaly makes your opponent ask you for permission to play spells. Use spells like Counterspell, Forbid, Mana Leak, Dismiss, and many others to counter or your opponents spells. I think that this deck is one of the most annoying to play against because it is so hard to play spells. Put in some good card drawing spells but make sure that they are instants and play them at the end of your opponent's turn. Add in 2 or 3 big flying creatures to kill your opponent, but do not play them until you have enough mana to counter your opponents spells when you play the creature.If you want you can add in 4 Saphire Meddalions to make your spells easier to play. This is a slow deck and reuires about 22-24 Islands.
This deck is also known as a "Tim" deck. It uses creatures like Prodigal Sorcerer, Pirate Ship, Revaka Wizard Savant, Rootwater Hunter, and some others that tap to deal damage to your opponent and their creatures. Add in some spells like Vitalize, Mobilize, and Instill Energy to untap your creatures to deal even more damage. Then add some walls for blocking and some creatures like Seeker of Skybreak to untap your creatures. This deck is a five color deck based on the creature type Slivers. Slivers are found in Stronghold and Tempest. They share abbilities with other slivers. Like the Winged Sliver gives all of the other slivers in play flying. The best card in this is a Sliver Queen it is hard to get out because it costs one of each color mana but it is good. It is a 7/7 that if you pay two colorless mana produces a 1/1 sliver token. Plus the Sliver Queen also gets the abilities of all the slivers. This deck is a deck that uses spells that produce tokens. Some of these spells are Goblin Warrens, Caribou Range, Breeding Pit, The Hive, and Goblin Offensive. These spells produce creature tokens. Then use Skull Canapult and Goblin Bombardment to sacrifice them to deal damage. You can also put in spells like Warriors Honor so that they can attack and actualy do damage. You can also put in some other spells that give you an advantage when sacrificing creatures like Stronghold Assasin and many others. This is a slow deck and requires about 8 Mountains, 8 Plains, and 8 Swamps.Click Here To See A Sample Token Deck
This is a deck that uses Dwarven Nomad and Dwarven Warrior to make creatures with power 2 or less unblockable until the end of the turn. Now you might say that 2 damage isn't a lot but here's the catch. Use creatures that are able to be pumped up like Storm Shaman, Sandstone Warrior, Furnace Spirit, Flame Spirit, and any other red pumpable creatures you have with power 2 or less. You can do this because once you tap either the Dwarven Nomad or Dwarven Warrior your creature beccomes unblockable until the end of the turn. Then pump up your creature and there is no way he can be blocked. Follow this up with some red direct damage and some spells like seething anger and your deck is complete. This deck can be annoying. It uses all creatures that have first strike. Add in any red or white creatures with first strike. If you can try to get some with flying. Add in some spells like Firebreathing to make your creature's power higher. Put in some red direct damage and some others things like Zeylon Sword. This deck is based around destroying your opponents land. Put in cards like Stone Rain, Flowstone Flood, Rain of Tears, Choking Sands and many others. Add in some walls for defense and creatures like Anarchist to bring back spells and Avalanche Riders to destroy your opponents land. Try to get some Orchish Sqauters to take over your opponents land. Put in some red direct damage and creature destruction. This is a slow deck and requires 12 Swamps and 12 Mountains.Click Here To See A Sample Land Destruction Deck
This deck uses spells like Pacifcism to stop your opponents creatures from attacking or blocking. There are many other spells besides Pacificism that have almost the same effect like Volrath's Curse and Thirst. A great creature to put in this deck is Somnophore. Somnophore is a 2/2 blue creature with flying that when deals damage to your opponent allows you to tap one of their creatures. That creature doesn't until as long as Somnophore is still in play. Follow up with some spells like Disenchant and some counterspells. This is a medium speed deck and requires 11 Plains and 11 Islands.Click Here To See A Sample Deep Freeze Deck
A shadow deck is fairly easy to make. Just take your best creatures with shadow and put them into the deck. This deck can be either black, blue, or white. You can even combine the colors. You would want to add in some walls for defense since your creatures with shadow can't block most creatures. This is a fast deck and requires 20 if single colored, 12 of each color land if two colored and 8 of each land if three colored.Click Here to See a Sample Shadow Deck
This deck uses creatures like Infantry Veteran, Keldjuran Elite Guard, Angelic Page, and other creatures that can tap to give target creature +1/+1 or +2/+2 until end of turn. Evasion is just a deck that uses creatures that are hard to block such as creatures with flying or shadow. You can also add in some creatures that are unblockable like Methran Soldier. Try to add in creatures that have a low casting cost so it is like a weenie deck. Add in some of the helping spells like creature destruction. This is a fast deck and requires 20 land for a single color, 12 of each land for a double colored deck and 8 of each land for a 3 colored deck.Click Here To See A Sample Evasion Deck
This deck uses creatures with flying to kill your opponent. It is fast the sense that your opponent will have a hard time trying to block your creatures. Add in a even number of high casting and low casting creatures so that you don't get screwed and lose. It can be any color or colors but the best in a blue and white deck. Add in some counterspells and a couple disenchants and life gaining spells. This is a fast deck and requires 11 Plains and 11 Islands.Click Here To See A Sample Flying Deck
This is a deck that uses spells known as reset buttons such as Armageddon, Wrath of God, Catastrophe, and a couple others. This is a white and green deck so use the white reset buttons. The way this deck works is that you use a reset button and then this deck works very fast so you can get your permanents out before your opponent. Some good spells for this deck are Tithe, Scapegoat, and wild growth. Add in some creatures like elves and other weenie creatures. This is an all black deck. It uses spells like Terror, Dark Banishing, Diabolic Edict, Expunge, and any others you might have to kill your opponents creatures. Creatures like Nekkratal and Bone Shredder are also good to put in, also put in some black regeneration creatures like drudge Skeletons, Unworthy dead, and Keldjoran Dead. This deck uses the creature type En-kor. En-kor have the ability to direct damage dealt to them to other creatures you control. The way this deck works is by directing the damge to things that give you good effecxts when they are dealt damage like Wall of Souls which when dealt damage deals and equal amount of damage to your opponent, and Wall of Essence which when dealt damage gives you life equal to the amount of damage. Put in some spells like Parapet, Castle, Heros' Resolve, and others to give your creatures a higher toughness. This is a mono red deck that is probably one of the fastest decks around. It was originally used in the magic world championship which gives you an idea of how good it is. It uses red cards such as Jackal Pup, Fireslinger, Mogg Flunkies, Lightning Bolt, Fireblast, Shock, Ball Lightning, and Mogg Fanatic. This is a deck that uses rats in it. It is a fast black weenie deck that also has some creature destruction and life draining spells in it. Add in Swarm of Rats and Pestilence rats to deal a maximum amount of damage. This is a fast deck and requires 20 SwampsClick Here To See A Sample Rat Deck
This deck uses the creaturetype viashino. Most of these creatures are uneffected by summooning sickness but the drawback is that they are returned to your hand at the end of the turn. This gives you an interesting game. Mix the deck with permanent and nonpermanent viashinos. Add in some red direct damage and some spells like Crown of Flames for extra damage. This deck uses such creature as Samite Healer and Sanctom Custodian to Prevent Damage delt to you and your creatures. Throw in some shadow guys and a few spells to pump then up like Empyrial Armor. This deck uses cards that force your oppenent to discard their hand. This can give you an advantage because then you have more cards than your opponent. This deck uses creatures that when they deal damage to an oppenent they also give them a damage counter too. A player can only have ten damage counters and he loses. The thing is that the creatures can be blocked so you must use cards life Charriot of the Sun and other cards like that to make your creatures harder to block.
